'Tis the Season (sorry, is it too soon?)

Please don't throw anything at me. I know that today is Halloween, and we are still almost two weeks away from Remembrance Day. I don't want to cause you anxiety or, for that matter, give you permission to put up your Christmas tree this weekend (I know some of you are already planning to!). In the spirit of hope, love, joy and peace, I want to draw your attention to the ways that we as a church family are planning to share Christ in the upcoming season and give you lots of time to engage and participate.

We know that Christmas is a time when hearts are especially open to hearing about Jesus. The longing that Advent (waiting for Jesus) points toward resonates with us in a broken world. The quiet of Christmas Eve calls our hearts back to the Prince of Peace. The joy of Christmas Day gives us a chance to celebrate and remember how blessed we are in every circumstance and season. We want to share these moments with you, and our neighbours, friends, families and community.

November will be a month of quiet preparation for the season and December will be a time to point all of us toward the miracle of Immanuel, God with Us.

Christmas Hampers (for 4 Families): November 1 - December 1
Christmas Choir: December 15
Kids Christmas Performance: December 15
Christmas in the Neighbourhood: December 15
Christmas Eve Service: December 24 (6pm)

Of course, we have details and sign-ups on our website. I invite you to click the link and see how you and your family can join us as we prepare for and share about Jesus in the coming weeks.

And for the record, my Christmas tree will be going up on December 1st. :)
